Things That Tried to Touch - 2026
Jupiterfab Residency, Guadalajara, Mexico
Things That Tried to Touch explores the material traces of intimacy in contemporary life, where feelings circulate through platforms, images, and objects. Drawing on Eva Illouz’s concept of emotional capitalism, the installation considers how emotions function as both labor and value.
The exhibition brings together ceramic sculptures, found objects, artificial and real flowers, plexiglass, and everyday objects into surreal structures. These compositions create spaces where intimacy, desire, care, loneliness, and attachment take material form.
The works form an evolving archive of emotional traces. Familiar objects are displaced and reassembled, revealing how feelings are produced and exchanged. Rather than telling a linear story, the installation invites viewers to move through a landscape of encounters and incomplete gestures, where objects carry memory and longing.
